Eastern Red Cedar Vase 8.5"high x 9.5"wide " Most of the wood I use comes locally from storm-felled or otherwise unwanted trees. Uniquely among living forms, a tree’s tissue—wood—contains a detailed record of its life, written overtly in patterns of grain, color and density, wormholes and defects; and covertly in the stresses that are revealed only as the wood changes shape in seasoning. I’m inspired to make objects that allow the wood to speak its history and at the same time to be beautiful, interesting or intriguing." ~ Richard Heys. Donated by Richard Heys

3 Bottles of RAEN Monarch Challenge Rosé - RAEN is rooted in their dedication to farming in unison with nature, implementing permaculture, biodynamic, and regenerative no-till practices; they promote using natural remedies in the vineyard in order to protect the vibrant biodiversity and ecosystem of their farms. RAEN's founder, Carlo Mondavi, began the Monarch Challenge to bring awareness to the importance of farming without harmful chemicals, which he began in 2016 when he learned that the population of the Monarch butterfly had declined to near extinction with the introduction of round-up in the 1970s. The impact goes beyond Monarchs, including other pollinators, animals, and all living things - including us as humans. The vision of the Monarch Challenge is a future of farming where we work with, not against, Mother Earth so that we may continue to farm on this beautiful planet for years to come.
